Sharing the Gospel with Others: Campus Ministry in Action

This year's Catholic Ministries Appeal theme, Sharing the Gospel with Others, is more than a message. It is something we are called to live.

Across Long Island, that mission is being lived out every day in quiet but powerful ways. It can be seen in the lives of young adults searching for meaning, connection, and a place to belong.
On college campuses, many students arrive feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or alone. Campus Ministry meets them in those moments. It offers more than programs; it offers presence and community. It reminds them that they are seen, known, and loved.
Through Mass, Confession, Bible studies, and simple conversations, something begins to change. What starts as curiosity becomes connection. What feels like isolation becomes community.
That impact is real. What was once a small group of 20 to 25 students gathering for Sunday Mass has grown to 40 or even 50. Not because they have to be there, but because they want to be.
"Since last year, we've seen growth from about 20-25 students attending Sunday Mass consistently, to nearly 40-50 students on some days. It's a gift to walk with these students from the ground up in their faith journey."
Even without a dedicated sacred space, students continue to show up, and they come with questions. They come searching, and they find something deeper than they expected.
They find faith.
They find support.
They find each other.
For many, these moments shape the course of their lives. The relationships they build and the faith they discover during this time stay with them long after college ends.
Through the Catholic Ministries Appeal, this mission continues. It makes it possible to walk with these young adults, to meet them where they are, and to remind them they are never alone.

Because sharing the Gospel is not just something we say. It is something we live, one life at a time.
