Our MISSION
Pope Francis has said, “the Eucharist is God’s response to the deepest hunger of the human heart, the hunger for authentic life, for in the Eucharist Christ himself is truly in our midst, to nourish, console and sustain us on our journey.” As Jesus selflessly gives himself to us in the Eucharist as spiritual nourishment, this cherished encounter with Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist directs us and strengthens us to continue His mission of evangelizing, revitalizing the faith and caring for those in need.
The Catholic Ministries Appeal supports formation programs that prepare our priests, deacons and lay leaders; train our religious education catechists and adult faith formation leaders who educate our youth and parish families; provide food and housing programs that serve our seniors, disadvantaged families, people with special needs, and those struggling with substance abuse; and promote the sanctity of life at all stages. Working together, we are all revitalizing the lives and faith of our brothers and sisters on Long Island.
quote Of The Month
“This is no time to be ashamed of the Gospel. It is the time to preach it from the rooftops. Do not be afraid to break out of comfortable and routine modes of living, in order to take up the challenge of making Christ known in the modern ‘metropolis’…The Gospel must not be kept hidden because of fear or indifference. It was never meant to be hidden away in private. It has to be put on a stand so that people may see its light and give praise to our heavenly Father.” -Saint John Paul II
